Discover the Product Collection — Makarand Gomashe

Makarand, Senior PM at Atlassian, presented the second half session covering two major Atlassian collection offerings: Service Collection (JSM, CSM, Assets, Rovo) and Product Collection (JPD, Feedback, Rovo, Pendo integration).

He covered Customer Service Management (CSM) with multi-channel support (email, SMS, WhatsApp, voice), Modern Hardware Asset Management in JSM, Solution Composer for AI-driven JSM setup, Isolated Cloud for enterprise compliance, and the new Feedback product within Product Collection for gathering and synthesising customer insights.

The Williams F1 team case study was a highlight — showing how JSM and AI helped their R&D team track hardware reliability issues and resolve them faster.

💡 Atlassian now supports 100K agents within Service Collection. The thali analogy: you buy at collection level — not feature by feature.

Workshop: Connected Collaboration — Anil Kumar & Piyush Annadate

ACE Pune champions Anil and Piyush shared how they manage the entire community event process using Atlassian products. This was originally presented at Team '26 Anaheim as a champion workshop and brought to Pune.

They showed a live demo of how JSM, Jira, Confluence, Assets, Rovo, JPD, CSM, Bitbucket, Compass, Loom, and Aligned were all used to manage community events — from speaker sourcing to hotel selection to vendor communication (automated via Rovo) to post-event ROI tracking. The concept: treat your community as a product.

💡 Rovo automatically sends emails to hotel vendors when an event ticket is created, saving champions many hours of manual follow-up calls.

Major Themes & Concepts

Every major topic discussed through the day — explained simply, with practical context.

The AI-Native Organisation Formula
Atlassian's core thesis from Team '26 — why intelligence alone is not enough.
AI-Native Organisation Formula: Intelligence × Context = Acceleration Three connected boxes showing Intelligence, Context (Teamwork Graph), and Acceleration (Rovo), with multiplication and equals signs Intelligence LLMs (Claude, GPT) Available to all Not a moat alone × Context Teamwork Graph (TWG) Your org's unique DNA History + decisions = Acceleration Rovo — AI Gateway Context without borders AI-native organisation

Teamwork Graph (TWG)

The Teamwork Graph is Atlassian's answer to the biggest problem with AI tools — they don't know your team. TWG connects everything: your Jira issues, Confluence docs, Bitbucket code, Slack messages, emails, meeting recordings, Salesforce data, and 300+ third-party tools. It is your organization's complete memory.

It is not just a database — it is a live, semantic graph that understands relationships. It can tell you who worked on a problem before, what decisions were made, what code is involved, and which team owns it.

WHY IT MATTERS
Without TWG, AI agents start from zero every time. With TWG, they know your history. Atlassian measured 44% accuracy improvement and 48% reduction in LLM token costs by using TWG internally.

Rovo — AI Gateway & Context Engine

Rovo sits in the centre of the Atlassian ecosystem. It connects to the Teamwork Graph and can talk to any of your approved LLMs through a secure AI Gateway — so you don't have to worry about data leaking to large model providers. You define the guardrails.

Rovo has a chat interface (like Claude or ChatGPT but with your org's data), a CLI-based interface for developers (TWG command in terminal), and can be invoked through Jira, Confluence, or any connected tool. It also has 340+ commands to act across your Atlassian ecosystem.

WHY IT MATTERS
Instead of copying data into an AI tool manually, Rovo already has your context. Ask it to prepare a customer meeting brief — it pulls from your CRM, calendars, past meeting notes, and Confluence — all automatically.

Jira Agents — Assigning Work to AI

One of the biggest announcements from Team '26: Jira tasks can now be assigned to AI agents, not just humans. Just like you tag a colleague, you can tag a Cursor agent, GitHub Copilot agent, or Canva agent in a ticket. The system shows you which agent is executing which step.

Example flow — a bug appears in Jira (manually or from test agent) → assigned to test agent → passed to Cursor agent for code fix → assigned to deploy agent → assigned back to test agent for retesting → closed automatically. Humans set the context and approve — AI executes.

WHY IT MATTERS
Teams can automate entire delivery pipelines while keeping humans in control of decisions. Works in Jira UI, CLI, and with MCP-supported third-party agents.

AIOps — Alert Grouping, Incident Command & Prevention

Jira Service Management now has three layers of AI-powered incident management. Alert Grouping: instead of 100 alerts flooding your engineers at 2 AM, the system groups them semantically into 5 real problems, and classifies each as signal or noise. Atlassian internally reduced 80% of their alerts to groups and saved 839 engineering hours in 6-7 months.

Incident Command Centre: one screen for incident resolution — AI-generated summary, key moments, investigation with blast-radius mapping, Rovo-powered root cause hypothesis, one-click rollback. Post-incident review (PIR) with auto-created Jira tasks also generated.

Incident Prevention Centre: before you deploy, AI does a 20+ parameter risk assessment covering technical, infrastructure, compliance (GDPR), business, and operational risks. Mitigation suggestions are generated automatically.

WHY IT MATTERS
On-call engineers get their lives back. Response time for incidents dropped from 4-5 hours to 1 hour for some customers. Risk assessment at deploy time means fewer incidents in the first place.

Service Collection & Product Collection

Atlassian is now selling at "collection level" — bundled product suites. Service Collection includes JSM, CSM (Customer Service Management), Assets, and Rovo. Product Collection includes Jira Product Discovery (JPD), Feedback, and Rovo.

CSM adds multi-channel support (email, SMS, WhatsApp, voice) with a shared AI agent keeping context across channels. Modern Asset Management adds out-of-the-box hardware lifecycle management — procurement, operations, disposal — from one dashboard. Solution Composer lets Rovo set up entire JSM service desks from a single prompt.

Feedback is a new product that collects customer input from all channels (Zoom interviews, Teams calls, support tickets) into one place, uses AI to surface patterns, and links insights directly to JPD for roadmap decisions.

WHY IT MATTERS
IT, support, product, and engineering teams all work in one connected system — no more context loss when a customer switches from email to WhatsApp, or when a PM needs to trace a roadmap idea back to actual customer feedback.

Code Intelligence in Rovo

Teamwork Graph can now scan your entire codebase semantically. Atlassian scans 11 million files and 1.5 billion lines of code. Non-technical leaders can ask questions like "which Confluence buttons don't match our latest style guide?" and get a full list with file paths — without touching the code.

Engineers can type TWG in their CLI to access the Teamwork Graph right from their terminal. A Jira ticket with no context? TWG finds related past tickets, identifies the code owner, links relevant Confluence docs, and maps the team that handled it before.

WHY IT MATTERS
Effort estimation, security audit scope, legacy code discovery — all become much faster when your AI can read your codebase with context.

Lines That Stood Out

The most impactful things said through the day — quotes worth remembering.

"
Intelligence is for sale. You have it, and so does your competitor. What makes your organization different is your context.
— Prithwish Basu, Senior PM, Atlassian
💡 This was the central thesis of the entire event. Contextual AI is the next competitive moat, not AI itself.
"
Humans do what only humans can do — take decisions, set context, assess impact, and consider tradeoffs. AI handles the execution.
— Prithwish Basu, Atlassian
💡 Atlassian's definition of an AI-native organisation — not AI replacing humans, but each doing what they're best at.
"
The work doesn't change. The way you work changes. You can do more with the tools we are offering.
— Speaker, during quiz discussion on Project Managers and AI
💡 Addressing a common concern: AI doesn't take your job, it helps you do more of it.
"
With Teamwork Graph, you don't need to create context manually. The historical context of over a decade is already there.
— Prithwish Basu, Atlassian
💡 The key advantage of TWG vs setting up any standalone LLM tool from scratch.
"
By automating the routine, we are freeing our people to focus on relationships, upsell opportunities, and interactions that actually drive the business forward.
— Loom customer quote, shared by Makarand Gomashe
💡 The real-world benefit of CSM + AI — fewer repetitive tickets, more customer relationship time.
"
If you are just a Jira admin, it will help you. If you are a program manager, it will help you. If you want to do something with AI — it will help you. Atlassian learning has use cases you may never have imagined.
— Piyush Annadate, ACE Pune Champion
💡 Encouraging the full room to explore free Atlassian certification and learning resources.
"
Gardner says 85% of outages happen because of bad change management — your deployment pipeline doesn't have enough guardrails. That's what we are fixing.
— Prithwish Basu, Atlassian
💡 The motivation behind the Incident Prevention Centre — stop incidents before they happen.
"
We used all Atlassian products — Jira, JSM, Assets, Confluence, Rovo, JPD — to manage this community event itself. And got requests from other countries to use what we built.
— Piyush Annadate & Anil Kumar, ACE Pune Champions
💡 Real-world proof that the Atlassian ecosystem can manage any structured process — not just software delivery.
"
You can only order thali in our case. Whatever thali you like, you buy it and fulfill your cravings completely. You don't just eat chapati.
— Makarand Gomashe, explaining Atlassian's collection-level pricing
💡 Easily the most memorable analogy of the day. Atlassian sells collections, not individual feature add-ons.
"
The judgment is where the true power comes in. Industry expertise, understanding of the market, and your vision of the company — that's where you add your people.
— Makarand Gomashe, on AI and Product Management
💡 AI builds the executive summary, but the PM's judgment on what to build and what to prioritize remains human.
Practical Use Cases Across Roles

How the ideas, products, and concepts from this event apply to different roles in your organisation.

🧪 Quality Engineer / QA

Smarter Defect Tracking with Rovo + Jira Agents

Assign test validation tasks to a test agent. Let a bug (auto-created or manual) flow through to cursor agent for fix → deploy agent → back to test agent for retest.

Example: A failed regression test auto-creates a Jira bug → assigned to test agent → cursor agent fixes code → deploy agent deploys → test agent retests and closes ticket.
🤖 QE / Test Lead (Historical Context)

Build QE Historical Context Using Teamwork Graph

Use TWG CLI to find past bugs, test cases, PIRs, and quality issues across Bitbucket and Jira without asking anyone. Build a QE knowledge base automatically.

Example: TWG scan reveals 47 open post-incident review action items from the last 6 months that were never acted upon — now your QE team has a clear backlog.
📦 Product Manager

Feedback-to-Roadmap with JPD + Feedback + Rovo

Aggregate customer feedback from Zoom interviews, support tickets, sales calls, and app store reviews into one Feedback view. Use Rovo to find which feedback aligns with your KRs. Build a Q1 roadmap with AI assistance.

Example: 10 customers reported the same checkout issue → Feedback surfaces them → Rovo creates a PRD summary → JPD ticket raised → roadmap updated.
🔧 Engineering Manager

Pre-Deployment Risk Assessment with Incident Prevention Centre

Before any deployment, JSM's AI does a 20+ parameter risk check — technical, compliance, infrastructure, and business risk. Mitigation suggestions are auto-generated if risks are found.

Example: A Friday evening deployment is flagged as high risk because three other teams are also deploying and there is an ongoing incident — approval is paused automatically.
🚒 SRE / On-Call Engineer

Alert Grouping + Incident Command Centre

When 100 alerts fire at 2 AM, AI groups them into 5 real problems and marks 80 as noise. The Incident Command Centre gives you a one-screen view with summary, hypothesis, blast radius, and one-click rollback.

Example: Database connection pool drops from 200 to 50 — Rovo identifies this as root cause, New Relic confirms, rollback plan suggested in one click.
🖥️ IT Admin / IT Manager

Hardware Asset Lifecycle with Modern Asset Management

Manage laptop procurement, assignment, warranty tracking, and disposal from one JSM dashboard. Rovo finds the right available device for each new employee based on their role and policy.

Example: New hire joins → ticket raised for laptop → Rovo checks available devices → finds a matching laptop → assigns it → off-boarding ticket triggered when employee leaves.
📊 Business Analyst / Reporting

AI-Generated Reports with ARNR from Amoeboids

Create reusable report templates with JQL and AI macros. Generate executive summaries, workload matrices, and risk briefings from Jira data — in PDF, Word, or HTML — automatically on a schedule.

Example: A QBR report template runs every sprint end and generates a two-page executive summary with a coloured workload heat map — zero manual effort.
📁 Project Manager / Delivery Lead

Eliminate Attachment Versioning Issues with ikuTeam

Edit Excel/Word files directly in Jira. No more "Sales_Q1_final_v3_updated.xlsx" naming chaos. One attachment, one source of truth, all edits in place.

Example: A sales forecast Excel linked in Jira is edited by three people — all changes happen in-place, no versions, manager always sees the latest data.
🔐 Security / Compliance Team

AI Agent Governance with miniOrange

As AI agents get more access to Jira, Confluence, and company data, govern what they can access just like you govern human users — with approval workflows, time-limited access, and full audit logs.

Example: A Rovo agent is granted read access to Salesforce data for 7 days only. Access auto-revokes with proof logged for auditors.
💼 HR / Employee Experience

Employee Transfers via Rovo and Solution Composer

An employee wants to transfer cities — they raise a ticket. Rovo handles all the next steps: contacts the hiring manager, checks approvals, creates sub-tasks, and tracks all steps to closure.

Example: "I want to transfer to Bangalore" → Rovo creates sub-tasks, emails new hiring manager, checks HR policy, marks tasks as complete — employee tracks everything in one Jira ticket.
🎓 Learning & Enablement

Use Community as a Product with Atlassian Tools

Run internal learning events, knowledge-sharing sessions, or community initiatives using the same ACE Pune model — Jira for task management, JSM for registrations, Assets for speaker registry, Rovo for vendor outreach automation.

Example: Internal hackathon managed in Jira — venue selection as a ticket, speaker tracking in Assets, communication automated via Rovo, ROI published in Confluence post-event.
🛠️ Customer Support Lead

Multi-Channel Support with CSM

A customer starts on your website chatbot, continues on WhatsApp, and gets a resolution from an internal agent in Jira — all while preserving context across every channel. AI handles 83% of tickets automatically (Loom's experience).

Example: Pia's card is locked, she starts on the web chat, switches to WhatsApp mid-journey — the CSM agent carries all context and routes to Fidelis the agent who resolves it from one Jira ticket.
What to Remember from This Event

The big learnings — what was new, what was practical, and what you should act on.

Takeaway 01

AI-Native ≠ AI-Only

Humans set the context, take decisions, and consider tradeoffs. AI handles execution tasks. The best results come from this collaboration — not from full automation.

Takeaway 02

Context Is the New Moat

LLMs are available to everyone. What sets your organization apart is your context — decisions, history, codebase, and culture. Teamwork Graph is how you capture and use it.

Takeaway 03

Developers: Try TWG in CLI First

Type TWG in your terminal to access 340+ commands across your Atlassian ecosystem. Best use case: get full context on any Jira ticket without talking to anyone — past tickets, code, owners, and docs all surfaced instantly.

Takeaway 04

Buy Collections, Not Features

Atlassian's "thali model" — Service Collection, Product Collection. You get everything in the bundle. Modern Asset Management, Solution Composer, Incident Command Centre — all included if you buy the right collection.

Takeaway 05

AIOps Is Already Proven in Production

Alert Grouping has been live for over a year at Atlassian. 80% of their alerts are now clustered. Average incident acknowledgement time dropped from 4-5 hours to 1 hour. Not a future feature — use it now if you have JSM Premium or Enterprise.

Takeaway 06

Free Learning Is Right There

All Atlassian learning resources — courses, certifications, use cases — are free at community.atlassian.com. Team '26 Anaheim has 20+ free session recordings available. Champions with 13+ certifications have shown the path.

Takeaway 07

Eat Your Own Cooking

ACE Pune manages its entire community event process — from hotel selection to speaker management to vendor outreach — using Jira, Confluence, Assets, and Rovo. If champions can do this, your team can do it for your internal processes too.

Takeaway 08

Assign Jira Tasks to AI Agents

This is already possible. Third-party agents (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Canva), your own custom agents, and MCP-supported agents can all receive Jira tickets. You can even add them to Jira workflows — same as assigning to a team group.
